Zansetsu Tea Cup - Tall
This beautiful teacup is inspired by the scenery of Tohoku, when the snow has just begun to melt at the arrival of spring. Their characteristic look comes from their glaze, called Zansetsu (残雪). Zansetsu means “the remaining snow” - this subtle but sophisticated glaze mirrors the quiet beauty of the village and its surroundings, evoking the turning of the seasons. A long firing results in a complex, rich, and slightly mottled surface, unique to each piece.
The Tall cup is raised up by a beautiful unglazed ceramic foot for an elegant sip.
Due to the use of natural materials, each piece will have slight variation in tone, texture, and appearance.
